Amherst Police Make First Arrest in Recent Attacks on Buffalo Pro-Life Medical Office

Buffalo, NY—On Saturday, March 25, a suspect was arrested pursuant to the most recent attack on March 16 on CompassCare’s pro-life medical office in Buffalo. According to a press release issued by the Amherst Police Department (APD), 39-year-old Hannah Kamke was arrested for one count of criminal mischief, a Class E felony carrying a mandatory 1-5 year prison sentence if convicted. This would be on top of any potential punishment precipitated by federal charges brought by the Department of Justice for a violation of the FACE Act.

CompassCare CEO, Rev. Jim Harden, congratulates the APD on arresting a suspect in the case of this FACE Act-violating vandalism. This is the first arrest since the attacks on CompassCare began 291 days ago with the June 7th firebombing of the same office.

The APD said the FBI was involved in the forensic analysis of the video surveillance provided by CompassCare which led to the arrest of Hannah Kamke. Rev. Harden says, “This arrest represents an indictment on the FBI and the hundreds of other local law enforcement agencies that have allowed the FBI to usurp their investigative duty. The FBI has less evidence for the March 16 vandalism than they do for the June 7 firebombing, yet they somehow were able to identify a suspect and make an arrest within days. We’ve been saying all along that the FBI possesses this kind of forensic power but has chosen not to employ it on behalf of pro-life people when victimized by pro-abortion Maoist Antifa.” Quick arrests for similar acts of vandalism against abortion clinics in IL and MI demonstrate Harden’s point.

CompassCare’s private investigators believe the recent vandalism is connected to the pro-abortion Maoist Antifa firebombing. The alleged perpetrator spray-painted the word “LIARS” on CompassCare’s sign, consistent with the anti-capitalist rhetoric, viewing pro-life pregnancy centers as misleading to women in order to force them to have their babies, making them a permanent socio-economic underclass.

Both the vandalism and firebombing fit the definition of a violation of the FACE Act. But the FBI still refuses to call pro-abortion Antifa attacks on CompassCare and other pro-life organizations domestic terror. This is in spite of the 2017 admission by the FBI and DHS that they were considering Antifa activity domestic terror. Meanwhile, the DOJ refuses to recognize the crimes against pro-life pregnancy centers as subjects of investigation on their dedicated webpage. This runs contrary to Merrick Garland’s testimony under oath before the Senate Judiciary Committee that the DOJ and FBI are being even-handed and objective to investigate and prosecute the rash of violence against pro-life pregnancy centers. Harden has said Kristen Clarke’s oversight of the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division is the reason for the de-prioritization as she is vehemently opposed to pro-life pregnancy centers and publicly supportive of Antifa causes.

Rev. Harden said he is prayerfully considering pressing civil charges on FACE Act violations against Hannah Kamke. Harden has said in the past that the FACE Act is unconstitutional on its face but, if not repealed, ought to be enforced equally.

Help CompassCare expand to reach and serve even more women seriously considering abortion in NY and across the United States.
