The Backstory: If you remember Renee’s story, you have been saving lives through CompassCare for some time! But you never got the update.
Renee came directly to CompassCare from an appointment at Planned Parenthood. She had been denied services because she did not have health insurance. So, she came to CompassCare for the free medical services.
When she met with the friendly CompassCare nurse, Renee disclosed that she abuses drugs. Upon discovering that she was pregnant, she did some research online and was extremely concerned about the possible harm that might have been done to her baby. Because of this, Renee was very abortion minded, stating, “There was no way I am going to bring a ‘handicapped child’ into the world.”
During the ultrasound, two tiny babies appeared on the screen—two heartbeats—seven weeks along!
Renee’s eyes got huge when she saw that she was pregnant with TWINS. She told the nurse that this changed everything and that she was going to seriously rethink her decision to abort.

Renee’s nurse asked if she could contact a local OB/GYN and set up an appointment for her. Renee agreed. Her visit with the OB/GYN was helpful for her as she discovered that her babies were healthy and had not been affected by the drugs. Renee was ecstatic, sharing that the guilt she felt had been keeping her up at night.
CompassCare followed up with Renee after her OB/GYN appointment, and her nurse was overjoyed to hear that Renee had decided to continue her pregnancy! The twins were doing well, and Renee shared that she was drug-free and had found a support group to keep her accountable.
When Renee came back, she was not the same woman that walked into the office weeks before. She was delighted about being drug-free and glowing over being the mother of two lively little babies. In a follow-up ultrasound, the nurse and Renee watched the babies moving around on the screen and heard their strong heartbeats on Doppler.
“I don’t even want to think about where I would be if I hadn’t come here.”
Renee, thanking the nurse over and over again, said, “I don’t even want to think about where I would be if I hadn’t come here.”
Update: Today, Renee’s baby girls are 13 years old! Because of the faithful support of pro-life Christians like you, two happy, vibrant girls are alive and well, along with their mother.
