Rochester, NY— New Whistleblower allegations from inside New York’s Office of the Attorney General confirm claims made by pro-life organizations that New York AG Letitia James directed staff to pursue political opponents without credible cause. These claims raise renewed questions regarding AG James’ 2024 frivolous prosecution of CompassCare Pregnancy Services and her larger pattern of persecution of pro-life groups to restrict their Constitutional Rights.
Assistant Attorney General Daniel Wiesenfeld alleged in an email sent to approximately 2,000 employees in James’ office that New York AG office time and resources are used to attack James’ political enemies instead of actual criminals. The Times Union reports the whistleblower email from Wiesenfeld was “quickly deleted from the office’s servers and vanished from the inboxes of more than 2,000 employees.” While the AG’s office disputes the allegations, Rev. Jim Harden, CEO of CompassCare, says, “All official or unofficial communication within the AG’s office is FOIA-able, part of the public record. Erasing these emails in itself is an act of corruption consistent with the allegations of the whistleblower and with CompassCare’s experience of Ms. James.”
Last week, Marco Rubio at the State Department confirmed what CompassCare has been insisting for over four years: that they were firebombed by international Marxist Antifa. And now a Whistleblower from inside New York’s Office of the Attorney General is confirming what CompassCare has been saying about why James, instead of investigating the terrorists, further attacked CompassCare through lawfare; prolife groups are politically disfavored.

On April 22, 2024, Letitia James notified pregnancy centers of her intent to sue within five business days, alleging the use of “misleading statements or omissions in the advertising of the Abortion Pill Reversal (“APR”) protocol,” claiming that the statements violated New York’s consumer-fraud laws. The notice did not identify why a non-profit providing free medical care and information fit the parameters of a business engaging in consumer fraud nor did the letter identify any women who had been injured by CompassCare’s APR communications and services. James subsequently filed suit anyway. Bottom line: James used precious taxpayer dollars to sue CompassCare for crimes that do not exist in law on behalf of absolutely zero plaintiffs simply because she is personally pro-abortion.
Thankfully, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted us a preliminary injunction against James from forcing CompassCare’s free emergency lifesaving services out of the public square. The court held that the speech at issue was noncommercial speech—not commercial advertising, and therefore entitled to full First Amendment protection. The court emphasized that nonprofit organizations like CompassCare receive no remuneration and are motivated by religious beliefs.
As the situation developed through 2025, CEO of CompassCare, Rev. Jim Harden, chided James for “penalize[ing] pro-life Christians for violations of her ideology,” declaring, “Letitia James needs to be impeached and then indicted for conspiracy to deprive religious liberty and speech rights…” also known as the 3rd KKK Act of 1871.
Says Rev. Harden, “CompassCare has a duty to continue sharing the truth that women who start the dangerous chemical abortion process can reverse the effects if caught early enough with emergency progesterone therapy.”
Consistent with whistleblower statements, it appears that James instructed her office to attack Christian pro-life organizations not because they were committing a crime but because they violated James’ secular fundamentalism. Given her aggressive pattern of activity against pro-life organizations prior to filing the suit (such as demanding Google censor pro-life organizations on business Map listings), her open support for the deregulation of the chemical abortion industry, and her own claim that the suit was filed in a broader effort to protect the abortion industry, Rev. Harden says James should be investigated by the Assistant U.S. Attorney General of the Civil Rights Division, Harmeet Dhilon, for Conspiracy Against Rights, undermining the rule of law under color of law.
Help CompassCare expand to reach and serve even more women seriously considering abortion in NY and across the United States.
