Rochester, NY—Some Republican leaders, including some in the Trump Administration, believe hedging on the abortion issue will help the GOP retain control of Congress. One Trump official violently criticized Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) for establishing the Love Life Initiative ahead of the midterms saying, “Picking a fight on an issue like abortion in a midterm is the height of asinine stupidity.” Many believe the data reveals the exact opposite: that the GOP’s lackluster results in the 2022 and 2024 elections suggest abandoning one’s moral convictions on foundational moral debates like abortion is campaign suicide.
Rev. Jim Harden, pro-life strategist and CEO of New York-based pro-life medical networks attacked by Biden-era terrorists and New York AG Letitia James, insists that the GOP can quickly gain the moral high ground by asking the one question Democrats fear the most: “Who is a person?” If not, Harden believes, similar to recent elections, Democrats will twist abortion into a moral imperative to protect women’s rights, catching Republican candidates flatfooted.
It has already begun. A July 22 amicus brief submitted for the Federal case Louisiana v FDA, signed by 47 Democrat supporting Senators and 212 Members of the House, reveals that the Democrats are already setting the terms of midterm debate.
“The only way for the GOP to break out of the Democrat moral imperative/women’s rights cycle,” says Rev. Harden, “is to aggressively reframe moral debate, revealing the depth of the Democrat disrespect of America’s citizenry. Ask the one question Democrats fear the most: Who is a person?” Rev. Harden says GOP leadership can rocket to the top of the moral mountain by submitting a “Personhood Clarification Act” for a vote after the August recess.
“Successful political movements like the War for Independence, the Civil War against slavery, and the Civil Rights movement are always built on moral conviction rather than political expedience,” says Rev. Harden, who further contends that “the abortion debate is essentially a debate about what it means to be human and the Constitutional definition of the word ‘person.’” Democrat abortion policy depends on their ability to narrow the definition of personhood to exclude certain categories of human from personhood status.
But if every human being is “created equal,” and “endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights,” and a Constitutional Rule of Law is designed to ensure those rights are not infringed upon, then the definition of personhood must be all-inclusive, unrestricted, devoid of qualifications. “This is the Democrat Achilles’ Heel if the GOP is brave enough to pinch it,” Rev. Harden insists.
The following is a 4-Step Plan to Revitalize the GOP’s Moral Vision for America while exposing the true toxic character of Democratic opposition.
Rev. Harden’s 4-Step Plan for the GOP to secure the moral high ground and sweep the midterms:
- Introduce a “Personhood Clarification Act” defining constitutional Personhood as applying to every human being from fertilization until natural death.
- Bring the legislation to the floor of both chambers for a recorded vote.
- If it fails to pass, ask every candidate for Congress to publicly explain his or her position on Personhood.
- With every continuing resolution, attach a Personhood amendment, noting that if Congress is not willing to recognize all people as protected under the law, it is nigh impossible to agree on how to spend money for their protection and betterment.
The Democrat defying question of personhood must be put before Congress today and raised to the level of public debate throughout America for the midterm campaigns, giving the GOP the moral high ground. And then let the people vote their conscience. The question of personhood is a question of survival, not just for preborn boys and girls, but for a vision of a future nation where all people, without partiality or equivocation, are created equal.
