NY Legislature to Investigate Groups Who Disagree with Abortion Policy

The New York State Legislature passed a nefarious bill, investigating groups who disagree with the state’s official abortion policy in order to pass additional legislation regulating them. The investigative body is focused on small, pro-life, non-profit, and mostly volunteer pregnancy centers. The legislation funds the investigators to demand any information including confidential patient records, internal service processes, and donor records. The investigative body is given 18 months upon Gov. Hochul’s signature to submit a report with recommendations for the legislature to further regulate pro-life work. This bill weaponizes the power of government against groups whose only wrong is that they disagree with the political positions of the powerful. If legislators can conspire to use the power of government to target their chosen ideological enemies, will this miscarriage of justice stop with pro-life pregnancy centers?
