Rochester, NY—On August 27, 2026, Rep. Jeff Crank (CO-05) introduced a House Resolution to denounce socialism in all of its forms. The resolution passed on September 1, 2026, with eight House Democrats voting yea. The resolution cites the deaths of more than 100 million people under communist regimes in countries including China and the former Soviet Union, as well as the genocidal and totalitarian character of those regimes. Rep. Crank noted the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) have both gained significant traction in the Democrat establishment and are now winning elections in many states. Rep. Crank’s goal in proposing this resolution was to force House Democrats to take a stand against the DSA and motivate Congress to enforce election integrity legislation, such as the SAVE Act.

It’s what principle makes us believe the life of each human person is worthy of protection and whether or not government should be vested with the power to disqualify any person from protection under the law.”
Meanwhile, disrespect of personhood has reached new lows in Canada, where the killing of newborns is being discussed as medical treatment. Following the expansion of physician-assisted suicide in 2021 to non-terminal patients, a group of doctors in Québec are proposing that, under certain circumstances, babies born alive with certain severe medical conditions could be eligible for euthanasia. Rev. Harden calls this proposal “10th-month abortion,” going on to insist, “A doctor killing a patient and calling it medical treatment is like a mathematician erasing the problem, claiming it a final solution. It’s not just lazy, it is barbarism.”

The late Paul Ehrlich, author of the bestselling The Population Bomb, was one of the most influential advocates of population control in the modern era. His work treated population growth as a threat requiring deliberate intervention, including widespread access to contraception and abortion. Despite being wrong on many, if not all, of his predictions—namely that more children would trigger a global apocalypse—his legacy has dehumanizing implications. In Ehrlich’s worldview, humanity’s existence can be evaluated primarily in terms of its effects on the planet rather than the inherent value of individual human beings. Rev. Harden argues, “If a society is willing to kill a child in the womb, it is only a matter of time before it will kill a child out of the womb. And then who is next? The disabled? The depressed?”
Rev. Harden goes on, “But to Speaker Johnson, I would say Socialism, per se, isn’t the issue. The issue isn’t even abortion. The issue is what happens when human beings are evaluated according to their utility, desirability, health, independence, or perceived effect on society. The heart of the debate is personhood. Either all people are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights or none of us are.”
The preborn child is the Western flashpoint in the war on humanity. American law is the most obvious place where the United States, the champion of liberty, makes legal protection of human life conditional on the individual’s status—born or preborn. An amicus brief submitted to the Supreme Court argued in Dobbs, “The Roe Court did not use proper linguistic interpretation of the text of the Fourteenth Amendment when limiting its interpretation of the second and third references to persons as those who were born,” and, “Simple linguistics, applied to these provisions in the U.S. Constitution, where the word person is unmodified by the word “born” confirms that a person is a person no matter how small.”
Rev. Harden says now is the time to set the record straight for the benefit of our posterity. If the goal of the GOP-led Congress is to safeguard the integrity of this great nation for future generations—resisting Socialism, cultural decay, and rule by despots—then Congress must lead the charge to restore Personhood to its proper place.
