Why Abortion Is Down 44% in Buffalo

Buffalo is bucking the New York State abortion trend, down 44% in one year, according to the most recent State vital statistics for Erie County. After Roe v Wade was reversed, New York’s abortion tourism spiked. Additionally, New York is headquarters to chemical abortion companies, providing 70% of all U.S. abortions. If abortion is generally up in New York, why has it dropped specifically in Buffalo?

Six years ago, CompassCare launched the “50% in 5 Years” campaign, with the goal of reducing Buffalo abortions by 50%. The approach: Build the pro-life medical service and education infrastructure, helping more women considering abortion have their babies. New York State Vital Statistics tell the story.

CompassCare CEO, Rev. Jim Harden, says, “Despite this reassuring report, even if one woman feels like abortion is her only option, there is still much work to do.”
