Staggering Black Abortion Analysis

Earlier this week, I was asked by a pro-life leader in New York City to provide a current analysis of abortion within the Black community. The numbers are so outrageously staggering that I thought you would want to see the analysis as well.

The following is an excerpt from my email to this pro-life leader:

Nationwide, the Black community makes up just 14% of the total population yet accounts for 39% of all abortions (approximately 400,000 abortions per year). It is important to note that Planned Parenthood (founded and based in NY) performs 40% of all abortions in the U.S., a very high percentage perpetrated on Black women, by design of the founder Margaret Sanger and the overt placement of 80% of abortion clinics in minority neighborhoods. Be that as it may, if all Black babies ever aborted in the U.S. were alive today, the Black community would be twice as large as it is now, representing nearly 30% of the population.

In New York, the most recent NYS Vital Stats reveals that across the state, abortion of Black babies accounts for at least 21,656 of the 70,562 (or over 30%).

However, it is worse in NYC. On average, for every 100 Black babies born, 101 are aborted. Nearly half of all Black abortions for the entire city occur in Brooklyn (Kings County), the nation’s abortion capital. For every 100 Black babies born in Brooklyn, a devastating 116 are aborted.

The numbers are probably much worse than that. These numbers are from the most recently published statistical year, which is 2023, representing a significant 25% increase over 2022.

But now the Guttmacher Institute and others have estimated up to a 90% increase in abortion throughout NY, putting NYS totals over 134,000.

All things being equal, this means Black abortions statewide equal 41,000 per year and, in NYC, approximately 29,000. 14,000 of all Black abortions occur in Brooklyn alone.

Because of the pro-life passion of Christians like you, women in Brooklyn have an ethical alternative to abortion. CompassCare’s Brooklyn office is the only medical pro-life outpost in the entire borough. Women and babies are in dire need of our support.
