America’s abortion battleground shifted dramatically from the federal level to the state level after Roe was overturned June 24, 2022. Conservative states rushed to restrict abortion while states like New York rushed to total deregulation. The fight now is being waged with ballot initiatives to amend state constitutions, permitting the practice through all nine months of pregnancy. Pro-life strategist, Rev. Jim Harden says, “The problem with ‘abortion-as-a-right’ ballot initiatives is that they are promoted dishonestly.” Harden claims that the reason abortion ballot initiatives gain traction even among pro-life states like Ohio is because the abortion industry is spending millions claiming if not passed that women will be denied lifesaving health care while hiding the unpopular truth that the amendments permit abortion through all nine months of pregnancy.
