NY Assembly Passes Bill Targeting Pro-life Organizations… Again

The New York State Assembly is targeting pro-life service organizations…again. Early in April the Assembly passed bill A5499 dubbed the Pregnancy Center Investigation Bill. The Assembly voted for similar bills in recent years, failing to pass muster in the Senate. Fearing the Supreme Court will overturn Roe v Wade, sending the abortion issue back to the states to decide for themselves, both New York’s legislative houses have taken every opportunity to deregulate abortion. That done, they appear to be turning their legislative guns on pro-life services. Despite there being zero cases of wrong doing on the part of these mostly small, privately funded, and volunteer non-profits, they have fallen under the menacing scope of abortion activist legislators. The use of the legislature to snipe at organizations they simply disfavor is the injustice which truly deserves investigation.
