California Senator Kamala Harris was named as Joe Biden’s running mate for Vice President. Prior to being elected as a Senator for California, Harris was California’s Attorney General. California passed the Reproductive FACT Act in 2015, forcing all pro-life medical clinics to promote and refer for abortion contrary to their conscience and mission. Refusal meant fines or closure. California’s Attorney General was responsible for enforcing the law. That Attorney General’s name was Kamala Harris. A group representing California pro-life pregnancy clinics named NIFLA filed suit, claiming California’s law violated the constitutional right of freedom of speech. The lawsuit made it to the ears of the Supreme Court which ruled in favor of the pro-life group in 2018. The name of that case is NIFLA v. Beccera. But before that it was NIFLA v. Harris.
