Four Horrific Mistakes of the U.S. Supreme Court

The U.S. Supreme Court has a checkered past.

Here are three horrific mistakes that have been corrected and a fourth which yet cries out:

  • 1823 SCOTUS denied Native Americans the right to own property in order to acquire free land.
  • 1857 SCOTUS decreed black slaves had no rights at all so others could have for free labor.
  • 1927 SCOTUS insisted that the “mentally unfit” had no rights to themselves so they could be forcibly sterilized to realize a defect free utopia.
  • 1973 SCOTUS proclaimed, “The word ‘person’ does not include the unborn.” And the dragon of abortion on demand was born.

How long before America rights this wrong? “But let justice roll down like the waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream” (Amos 5:24).
