Anwar & Zoya’s Story: “We Are Keeping This Baby.”

Anwar and Zoya are married. Despite their religious beliefs against it, they were looking for an abortion pill to end their unplanned pregnancy. They were referred to a CompassCare office by a medical clinic that does not provide abortion pills.

Anwar and Zoya are not Christians, but their compassionate nurse specifically stated that since CompassCare is a Christian organization, “We do not perform nor refer for abortions.” Slightly agitated, the woman looked to her husband for guidance. They felt their family was already full. And even though she didn’t want an abortion, she was being coerced by him.

The nurse felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to ask the husband a question: “Do you believe in God?” “Yes,” he replied. Encouraged to continue, the nurse quoted Psalm 127, saying, “Did you know ‘Children are a blessing and a special gift from God’ And that God has ordained the husband to be his family’s spiritual leader?”

The atmosphere in the room, previously tense, oddly softened as the light of truth dawned in their dark moral dilemma. Anwar said, “Thank you for your words. Thank you for redirecting my thoughts. We have been to several places, and no one has spoken to us as you have just now. We are keeping this baby as we cannot violate God’s word and intentions for our family.”

Showing love and care for parents and the child inside the womb is at the core of CompassCare’s mission. God places infinite value on all humans – men, women, and their preborn boys and girls.

The nurse noted that a beautifully clear ultrasound showed a precious new baby growing in Zoya’s womb, whose rhythmically beating heart was already celebrating LIFE!

On a follow-up appointment, Zoya surrendered her life to the Lordship of Jesus.
