Why is the pro-life movement populated and led by Christians? Pro-lifers span the demographic gamut including men, women, white, black, old and young. What is it that makes a person so passionate they are willing to sacrifice both their reputation and resources to help women considering abortion to have their babies while winning over their neighbors to their view? It is the Gospel.
God in Jesus saved His people from the eternal poverty of sin through His death on the cross. Christians understand that God obligates His people to walk in His steps, reflecting God’s own character back to the world by caring for the poor. Since all other categories of poor get to live, abortion represents the greatest poverty of all as it robs boys and girls of their very lives.
