Diverse Coalition of Buffalo Church Leaders Stand Against Abortion Expansion

A diverse forum of Buffalo area church leaders met on September 10 to discuss how to push back on New York’s notorious abortion expansion bill. The event invitation was co-signed by well-known WNY church leaders such as Bishop Malone of the Buffalo Diocese, Rev Juan Carlos Rivera of the Assembly of Christian Churches, Rev. Mike Failla of Eight Days of Hope and Kingdom Bound Ministries, Rev Jerry Gillis of the Chapel, and many others. Rev William Gillison of Mt Olive Baptist Church states, “It all comes down to our unwillingness as a society to protect the personhood, of certainly the Black boys and girls, but all preborn babies.” Fellow organizer of the coalition, Father Art Ward of St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church says, “This is not a political issue. This is a human one…. May God help us overcome this inhumanity.”
