URGENT: Pray for Attorneys and Staff

After the illegal leak of the Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v Wade, CompassCare’s Buffalo medical office was firebombed, injuring two firefighters on June 7, 2022.

But that was just the beginning. That attack sparked a firestorm of additional attacks from multiple fronts, which CompassCare and our attorneys continue fighting to this day. And now that abortion is up in America, it turns out that overturning Roe was not the end of abortion but the end of the beginning. And the battle rages.

Pray for CompassCare’s pro-bono attorneys from the Thomas More Society, a public interest law firm based in Chicago, as they prepare for oral arguments on two of our many critical cases, fighting weaponized legislation from both New York State and New York City. Oral arguments on both cases will be heard at 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 26, in Manhattan. Pray for justice and a favorable panel of judges.

There are several other cases still pending, new cases being considered as new lines of legal attack opened with the passage of New York Prop 1, making abortion a civil right, threats from the new NYC Mayor Mamdani, additional concerns from the New York Attorney General, ongoing investigations into unresolved violence against us, and more.

Pray for CompassCare staff and volunteers, as many have wondered what’s next? CompassCare’s team is one of the most courageous and mission-focused group of Christians I have ever had the privilege of knowing. And I have the honor of serving alongside them every day!

Stand with women and children through CompassCare.

CompassCare faced debanking, doxing, death threats, cyber terror threats, politicized federal law enforcement, active Big Tech censorship, lawfare from the NY Attorney General, with cascading implications of physical and financial security for concerned staff, volunteers, and donors.

And while the Apostle Peter tells us not to be “surprised at the fiery ordeal among you…as though some strange thing were happening to you” (1 Pt. 4:12), the persecution remains an ongoing and ominous toll we must pay daily, not just legally, but mentally, spiritually, and physically.

AVAILABLE FEBRUARY 5: Forged from the smoke of the Buffalo firebombing and resulting ongoing persecution, this book is essential preparation for any serious Christian. Rev. Harden notes that he put off writing this story for quite a while. But when Charlie Kirk was assassinated in September, he couldn’t deny the reality that persecution in America wasn’t just happening to CompassCare, targeted churches, or a handful of peaceful pro-life protestors. Jesus predicted it. And He told us to be ready for it.

Full Disclosure: I wonder what legal notice will be served in the mail next, what emergency 2:00 A.M. phone call I will get next, which donor might bow out for fear of being audited for supporting us, which pastor will write a letter to their congregation chastising CompassCare as too political.

So please pray, beloved. Pray that to the degree we “share the sufferings of Christ,” we “keep on rejoicing” in the salvation He has wrought for us in the furnace of His cross, “so that also at the revelation of His glory [we] may rejoice with exultation” (1 Pt. 4:13).

In Christ,

Rev. Jim Harden, M.Div.
CompassCare CEO
EMC FrontLine President

I regret my two abortions and only wish there were compass cares to have help me see clearly. We deserve better than abortion. So do our babies. Praying Jesus help this wicked nation. They know not what they do is absolutely evil in God’s eyes and his wrath is powerful as is Repentance from Jesus and changing to honor life. Praying for you Compasscare!

How can Christians today be labeled as too political?! Political issues and spiritual issues are one and the same. Make no mistake, there is no separation here. If you can’t boldly stand for moral political viewpoints, then I very much doubt that you can boldly stand for Jesus Christ when you’re called upon to do so. Thank you, Reverend Jim, for not backing down.

The battle l8nes are already drawn. I am glad you have the lawyers of St. Thomas Moore Society helping you. Fighting back successfully requires a thoughtful firm response and I will pray for Compass Care. Attorney General James may think she is above the law but I believe the tide will turn against her. Hang on there, God bless your efforts! The governor called us Neanderthals and I am proud to be despised by her. I pray for the salvation and defeat of these people. Who knows? My namesake was knocked off a horse and became a champion for Christ although, at the time, he was honestly doing what he thought was God’s will.
