We Shall Defend the Defenseless, Whatever the Cost May Be

CompassCare’s Patient Services team takes the risk of sacrificing and speaking the truth in love to women every day in America’s abortion headquarters and all across the U.S. Why? Because they too have been trained by their loving heavenly Father. And however that training came, they learned their lessons well.

It is not a secret that over the years God has given us big, risky ideas. And with those risky notions, God provided the approach, the pluck, and the resources to put flesh on the bones. CompassCare’s philosophy of ministry revolutionized the pregnancy center movement. The NYS Abortion Reduction Plan expanded free pro-life medical care from Rochester into Buffalo, then Albany, then TeleCare to compete with online chemical abortion, and on into the headquarters of the abortion industry, NYC, where we’ve built upon and accomplished the medical service goals of Chris Slattery’s decades long efforts in a miraculous few months.

Now because of God’s great love, His people are conduits of His love to thousands of pregnant women and babies every year and millions generally through CompassCare’s education efforts nationwide. CompassCare is the largest pro-life medical network of which we are aware in the Eastern U.S. CompassCare is the only pro-life medical network providing the Lion’s share of medical care to an entire State, and not just any State, the abortion capital of America, NY.

And with the Apostle Paul we can say, “…a wide door for effective service has opened to [us], and there are many adversaries” (I Cor. 16:9). We’ve been censored by Google, firebombed by Antifa terrorists, been the target of a politicized DOJ and FBI, fought weaponized legislation by New York Governor Hochul, experienced lawfare from the NY Attorney General Letitia James, and all with the same goal: to shut us down. But thanks to God and your faithfulness, CompassCare is still here.

And not only that but we are growing. We’ve built a beta version of a “Pro-life Missionary Nurse Program” in preparation for an influx of workers for the harvest. We’ve got our sights on service expansion. This includes expanding to the remaining abortion-hub boroughs from Staten Island to Queens and Manhattan. It also includes exploring services to every woman with a Doula service, providing assistance throughout pregnancy and delivery and reducing abortion in abortion hub nations like India via TeleCare International!

I want to be the guy who is running so hard and fast that the great cloud of witnesses yell, “Watch out! Here he  comes!” I don’t want to go down with a sigh, playing it safe. Eternal souls are at stake.

We will continue faithfully risk-taking to serve, sacrifice for, and save as many lives as possible because there is no law against love! And God is love. “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God’s elect?” (Rom. 8:31-33a).

And in the swirl of growth and the fog of crisis, God gave CompassCare a national platform to communicate the truth of the inherent value of all people as made in the image of God. For three years after the Buffalo office was firebombed, every day from 7:30 A.M. into the evening, I’ve spoken at over 2000  media interviews from Tucker Carlson to Charlie Kirk.

Risk does come with error. But a wise man once said, “Those who make no mistakes, make nothing.” I believe that’s true. Why else would God give us this powerful tool called faith if we weren’t supposed to move mountains?

From all God’s training and discipline, He taught us a valuable truth: Those who fail to fail, fail at life. Those who risk little accomplish less. We must be bold and take risks for God for the lives of those made in His image.

I don’t want to be the guy that heaven sees sauntering slowly to the Jordan. I want to be the guy who is running so hard and fast that the great cloud of witnesses yell, “Watch out! Here he comes!” I don’t want to go down with a sigh, playing it safe. Eternal souls are at stake.

I want to be a St. Crispian’s Day Christian. Like Shakespear’s Henry V, I want to spend my life on the battles that matter most, with a “happy few,” like you, even if that battle might appear unwinnable. Who knows what glorious miracles God may reward us for our risks taken in faith. Fighting for the oppressed in the light of the Gospel is worth whatever the cost. And while we win one baby, one woman at a time, we have an enemy in Satan, the world, and in ourselves, working to shut us down, to turn off the spigot of God’s love and sacrifice for our fellow.

And if we are destined to lose, this battle for life is worth losing. Because if this battle is lost, then all is lost.

And given that civil order stands upon a knife’s edge, undermined daily by craven culture, provoking the passions of greedy souls while Marxist politicians masquerade under the guise of the Rule of Law, I have taken the liberty of revising Winston Churchill’s Speech which he gave Parliament one week after a mirculous evacuaton of Allied forces from Dunkirk, living to fight the deadly tyranny of atheistic communism another day:

“I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend the hope we have in Christ, to ride out the secular storm, and to outlive the intolerant menace of persecution exacted in the name of absolute liberty, if necessary for years, if necessary alone. At any rate, that is what we are going to try to do. That is the resolve of His Majesty’s kingdom every man of them. That is the will of the Elders and the Church. The invisible Church and every true believer, linked together in their cause and in their need, will defend to the death their native soil of faith, aiding each other like good comrades to the utmost of their strength. Even though large tracts of mainline Christianity and many old and famous boughs of the tree of faith have fallen or may fall by the saw of materialism and all the odious apparatus of democratic despotism, we shall not flag or fail.

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight sin in ourselves. We shall fight dehumanization on the seas and oceans of godless government. We shall pray with growing confidence and growing strength against the Prince of the Air. We shall defend the defenseless, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight for

the life of babies targeted for abortion. We shall fight for the life of the elderly slated to be euthanized. We shall fight in the fields of democracy and in the streets of socialism. We shall fight for the orphaned and forgotten as Christ did for us at the cross. We shall never surrender! And even if, which I do not for a moment believe, the Church or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then Christ’s Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the angelic host, would tax the remotest star to carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and liberation of the old.”

Heavenly Father, give us wisdom empowered with the unction and courage only the Holy Spirit can supply to see many more souls saved alive by the grace and for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
