How important are beliefs? The belief that mankind is made in the image of God is the basis of human dignity and equality. If man is not made in the image of God then equality is just a word politicians use to manipulate the people to amass more power to themselves. To justify abortion, the definition of what it means to be human must be narrowed to exclude preborn babies. To say that preborn babies do not qualify as persons under the law in order to justify abortion is either no big deal or the greatest injustice the world has ever seen. It all hinges on what society believes about what it means to be human. Either we are made in the image of God and equally valuable or there is no human value at all.
